How to get there

From Cape Town International Airport

Take the N2 South and follow signs for Muizenberg (M3). Note: Do not take the Muizenberg M5 sign which comes before the M3 sign. At the end of the M3 (about 20 mins drive) take a left at the T-junction and follow Muizenberg signs. Drive for 300 yds and take a right at the traffic lights, this road takes you into Muizenberg. For a more detailed 'how to get there' contact the owner who will provide a map and detailed instructions depending on where you are traveling from.

About the area

Muizenberg's heyday was in the 70s when you couldn't move for strollers, sunbathers and sun-worshippers. 30 years on and Muizenberg is seeing somewhat of a revival in it's fortunes. The world famous Surfers corner is transforming into a cool place to hang out at the weekend and the excellent Knead cafe / restaurant is a great place to soak up the atmosphere even if you don't have a surfboard under your arm. Muizenberg is also home to the Waterslides which unlike European versions is less strict and does mean you get whole familes catapulted down at great velocity. Although it gets very busy during holidays and at weekends it never seems like your being crowded for space and it's well worth a visit with or without children. 10 minutes away by car is St. James and a further 5 minutes is Kalk Bay where you can shop for trinkets and eclectic clothing or have lunch or dinner at one of the many varied and excellent restaurants.
